A true story. A glimpse into what often remains invisible.

“Notti Nascoste” is a civic theatre performance, a staged reading with live music produced by Lo Stanzone delle Apparizioni and based on the story of the same name by Stefano Cosmo.

Through the stories of its protagonists—a trans woman and a young Romanian migrant, both forced into prostitution to survive—the show brings to life conditions of marginalization, vulnerability, exclusion, and exploitation.

It does so through a humane and non-sensationalistic lens, placing people, feelings, relationships, and dignity at the center, and also giving space to underrepresented realities, such as male and transgender prostitution.

The show

Hidden Nights was born from an awareness-raising project promoted by the theater company Lo Stanzone delle Apparizioni, in collaboration with the National Anti-Trafficking Helpline.

The show explores some of the conditions that can lead to exploitation—poverty, exclusion, discrimination, lack of alternatives, and loneliness—with the aim of fostering empathy and awareness and encouraging audiences to change their perspective.

The text is based on the story of the same name by Stefano Cosmo and is enriched by the testimony of Anita Garibalde, a collaborator of the National Anti-Trafficking Helpline.

Around October 18th

The evening is part of the awareness-raising campaign promoted by the ALBA Project in preparation for October 18, the European Day against Human Trafficking.

The October 7th meeting kicks off a process that will continue on October 8th with the 8th National Meeting of Street and Contact Units, a time for discussion between workers from across Italy, and will lead the region toward European Day on October 18th.

Through different moments and languages, the goal is to help make visible phenomena that often remain marginalized by the public gaze and promote greater awareness of conditions of vulnerability, trafficking, and serious exploitation.
