THE ALBA PROJECT
The ALBA project was founded in 2003 to implement social assistance and protection projects for foreigners who are victims of trafficking and exploitation, or who find themselves in situations of personal vulnerability, with the aim of promoting their social and employment integration.
The hummingbird was chosen as the Alba project's logo for its profound symbolic and evocative meaning. It represents strength, vitality, and rebirth.
The Autonomous Province of Bolzano – Office for Child Protection and Social Inclusion – is overseeing the project and coordinating the three private social organizations that handle the operational aspects: Associazione Volontarius Onlus, Associazione La Strada – Der Weg Onlus, and Consorzio sociale Consis Onlus.
THE THREE ORGANIZATIONS OF THE ALBA PROJECT
Volontarius is the organization responsible for identifying, assessing, and surfacing potential victims, through the work of specialized operators in the areas where the phenomenon is most prevalent. During these interventions, a space is created to develop a relationship of trust, identify needs, and accommodate requests for help.
La Strada manages the reception of those it takes care of, offering socio-educational support and guidance aimed at socio-housing inclusion, thanks to the activation of various types of reception: emergency, residential, and territorial.
Consis provides career guidance and training (linguistic and professional) to those supported by the project, with the aim of promoting their entry into the workforce, including through training internships.
